The UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) recognises cities around the world that place creativity at the heart of sustainable urban development. Cities are designated across fields such as Design, Literature, Music, Crafts & Folk Arts, Gastronomy, Film and Media Arts.
In the Design category, the network includes cities such as Berlin, Montreal, Seoul, Nagoya, Detroit and Pune.
A Creative City designation is not an award for the past. It is a commitment to using creativity, culture and design to shape a city’s future.
